The British newspaper The Independent published an editorial today under the title “All of us will feel the pain of the sanctions imposed on Russia,” in which it confirmed that all parties are losing because of these sanctions, in reference to the price frenzy in global energy markets.
The newspaper said that Western governments, especially the US administration, threaten to boycott Russian oil and gas supplies, fearing that traders will deal with Russian oil supplies and be exposed to US sanctions at a time when Russia itself threatens to cut off its oil supplies and impose similar effective sanctions on those who impose these sanctions on its oil sector.
The newspaper believed that Russia may lose significant income from foreign exchange for its main exported commodities, but its opponents will also suffer from a sharp rise in food and fuel prices, warning in its editorial that, as always, the most affected by these sanctions will be the poorest people with expectations of a rise in the price of a barrel Oil has reached record levels, reaching $300 a barrel.
And the newspaper considered that there may be no escape from another wave of inflation and stagnation, the conclusion of its article by emphasizing that the economic pain resulting from the sanctions will appear in every corner of the world without exception and will not be limited to Russia alone.
