Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky is interested in addressing the Knesset in Zum and presenting Ukraine's position on the Russian invasion directly to Israeli lawmakers.
A senior Israeli official said that Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Kornichuk today (Wednesday) submitted the request to Knesset Speaker Miki Levy.
However, it is unclear whether the speech will take place and how. Going on vacation, it will be necessary to convene a special session and invite the MKs to arrive.
The Speaker of the Knesset earlier sent a reply to the Ukrainian ambassador stating that the plenum could not be convened specifically for the purpose of the speech and that he proposed holding a zoom conversation between Zlansky and the MKs in the coming days.
The Knesset Speaker's office contacted the Foreign Ministry to check whether there were any political sensitivities.

The Ukrainians were disappointed with the Knesset's response because they wanted to hold an event in which Zlansky spoke on a large screen in front of the Knesset plenum.
Yesterday Zalanski delivered a similar speech in the British Parliament and a few days ago he addressed the European Parliament in this way.
