Why war, violence, dictatorship, torture and weapons are feminine names?

Weapons may be feminine, but those who use and love them are those who are obsessed with the phallic world of violence

Putin's war, which is tearing our world apart without knowing where we will land, is producing millions of words of information and analysis.

And the words are not innocent.

Let Lacan say it, one of the fathers of psychoanalysis.

And today the most written and pronounced word since the conflict broke out in Ukraine is war.

International Women's Day has been celebrated this year under the explosion of Russian bombs that hurt us all.

And I have wondered, thinking of those millions of women who are fleeing war with their children, leaving their homes without knowing where they will land or what awaits them, why war is feminine in almost all languages.

Women in wars are always the ones who suffer the most, even if they are the ones who die the least.

They, with their capacity for self-sacrifice, with their strength in the face of pain, sustain the world, while men destroy it.

If it weren't for women in the rearguard of wars, the planet would have already finished.

And if it depended on them there would be no more wars.

Language has not only made war feminine.

Violence, weapons, dictatorship, torture, cruelty, rape and even cowardice are also feminine.

And yet the weapons are phallic.

Perhaps that is why the tyrants love them so much, for whom the word peace, which must be feminine, burns in their mouths.

What is phallic is the fight, the conflict, the vaunted manhood, which I don't know why is also feminine.

It must not be a coincidence that tyrants, fascists and Nazis tend to be misogynistic and homophobic and only conceive of women as objects of pleasure.

Brazil has been shaken these days by the behavior of conservative state deputy Arthur do Val.

He had gone to Ukraine alone on a humanitarian mission, which was applauded.

But, on his return, some messages in bad taste suggesting that he could have gone to practice sex tourism turned the situation against him.

All happily explained to his friends that Ukrainian women "are very beautiful and also very easy because they are poor" and that "great parties" could be organized with them.

The deputy, who pretended to be governor of São Paulo, ended up execrated, he is going to lose his position and his career is over.

The politician was close to the extreme right of President Jair Bolsonaro, whose misogyny and contempt for everything feminine is more than well known, to the point of having confessed his sorrow because his fifth child, "due to an oversight, was born to him woman".

Amid the outrage produced by the deputy who went to Ukraine and made rude comments about women fleeing the war, the media has literally dusted off and reproduced some of the misogynistic and phallic pearls of the political career of the former captain, today head of state in love with dictatorships and torture.

Here are two of those pearls from the Brazilian president, who on Women's Day held an event with politicians without the presence of a single woman.

When he was still a federal deputy in a public session of Congress, arguing with a deputy from the Workers' Party (PT), he told her verbatim: “She does not deserve to be raped because she is very ugly, she is not to my liking, I would never rape her.

I'm not a rapist, but if she was, she wouldn't do it, because she doesn't deserve it."

His homophobia is also classic.

Already president, he stated: “Brazil cannot be the country of gay tourism.

Whoever wishes to come here to have sex with women will be welcome, now, what Brazil cannot become is the paradise of homosexual tourism”.

Yes. Weapons may be feminine, but those who use and love them are those who are obsessed with the phallic world.

Today, in the wake of a new Nazi-Fascist extreme right, its new values are impregnated with death and violence, with pure virility, with contempt for everything feminine, because according to this new right, women are a hindrance even to the economy.

It was also the Brazilian head of state who coined this pearl in conversation with his fanatical followers: “I feel sorry for the businessmen in Brazil, because it is a disgrace to be a boss in this country with so many labor rights, because between a man and a woman young woman, what does the employer think?: 'Damn, that woman has a ring on her finger, soon she will be pregnant, six months of maternity leave…'.

No, war, violence, weapons, cowardice cannot be feminine.

Tell us but Stalin and Hitler and Mussolini, and today Bolsonaro and all the lovers of the new resurrected extreme right and all those who today want to lock women up again in the sentry box where, as a true Bolsonarista said here, "It always was and should continue to be."

Well that.
