China: Our position on the situation in Ukraine is objective and independent

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijian announced that his country adopts an objective and independent position on the crisis in Ukraine.

"China has always taken an objective and impartial stance on the Ukraine issue, and has formed its independent opinion on the core of the problem, and has also played a constructive role in promoting peace and negotiations," Zhao said at a press briefing today.

"China welcomes all diplomatic efforts between Russia and Ukraine aimed at achieving peace, including the trilateral meeting of foreign ministers of Turkey, Russia and Ukraine," Zhao added.

On the other hand, Zhao said, "The United States criticizes China's stance on Ukraine for seeking scope for its conspiracy of simultaneous repression against China and Russia."

Commenting on a media report, the Chinese diplomat added that the two articles published by the American newspaper "New York Times" on the so-called China's prior knowledge of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine... "The mastermind of all this is an American official... and the United States is spreading misinformation about China regarding Ukraine's case to try to blame another party, provoke confrontations and take advantage of the case... This is a despicable and malicious act."

"The more I think about smearing China with lies and loud things, the more it exposes its lack of credibility in front of the international community," he said of Washington.

"The details of how the Ukraine issue has developed into what it is today is very clear...The actions of NATO under the leadership of the United States have pushed the Russian-Ukrainian tension to the breaking point," Zhao said, noting that while the United States ignores its own responsibility, it criticizes China's position on Ukraine to discuss There is room for a conspiracy to simultaneously suppress China and Russia in order to maintain their hegemony.
