Dießen wants to "celebrate together"

Dießen – New attempt: From July 27th to 31st, the “D'Ammertaler” heritage and traditional costume club in Dießen/St.

Georgen celebrate its 100th anniversary and the marching band its 50th anniversary.

And that in the lake facilities with a catering marquee, a costume and crafts market with a wide range of offers, good music, dance and tradition.

2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Dießener Trachtenverein and the 50th anniversary of the Spielmannszug - a division of the main association.

A five-day festival program and many other event formats were planned throughout the year.

Then came the coronavirus.

And everything was cancelled.

But postponed is not canceled, which is why the exciting and eventful history of the club is being honored this year in the form of a diverse festival, the Festtage am See.

The moto: "Celebrate together!".

100 plus 2 years old - not everyone can point to that.

The Dießener Trachtenverein can count itself fortunate, since since the association was founded, the customs, the homeland and traditional costumes, the folk dance, the Schuhplattln and the music in the most diverse variants have been and are passed on to the younger generations again and again.

The marching band of the Trachtenverein also has every reason to celebrate: 50 plus 2 years of making music together.

A long time, which is characterized by changes, as one could experience them especially in the last two years.

At first there was only one drummer, which over time expanded to include other instruments and can now be presented to the public with trumpets, piccolos, lyres and various drums.

The festival days at the lake should offer something for everyone.

This festival program is planned so far:

• Wednesday, July 27: Radio Oberland's hit concert with the bands VoixxBradler and D'Hundskrippln – advance ticket sales now available: www.trachtenverein-diessen.de.

• Friday 29 July: Jubilee evening.

Bavarian dance evening with the Hochberghauser brass band.

The Dießen Trachtenverein and the Raisting Trachtenverein celebrate their anniversaries with sponsors and partner associations from Bavaria, the Czech Republic and the USA.

• Saturday 30 July: Music Day.

From 10 a.m. musical entertainment with various groups, in the afternoon Bavarian fairy tale stage, in the evening for the anniversary of the marching band concerts with star marches and a music competition.
