According to Environment Minister Thekla Walker, the energy supply in Baden-Württemberg is currently secure.
"It's a serious situation," said the Green politician on Thursday in the Stuttgart state parliament, with a view to the Ukraine war and its consequences for the energy sector.
Walker warned that if deliveries from Russia were to be stopped in the short term, this would have serious consequences for the economy.
Stuttgart - In the debate about a possible longer service life for nuclear power plants, Walker said that this would not have the effect of ensuring the energy supply in the current crisis.
According to previous plans, the Neckarwestheim nuclear power plant in Baden-Württemberg will be in operation until the end of the year.
