Volunteers in the district of Freising are currently working hard to support Ukrainians.
Now there were two more very special campaigns.
District
– Some customers may have been quite surprised by the sight: numerous goods outlets from furniture stores in the Freising district were blocked by fire engines on Tuesday.
In the background there was an eager bustle of uniformed forces.
And not because there was a fire there, but because the volunteers were helping Ukrainians in need.

Volunteer fire brigades in Nandlstadt, Au, Moosburg and Freising supported the Ukraine coordination group of the district office with their transport capacities when requested to do so.
In the meantime, emergency shelters are being prepared at several locations in the district - for which, of course, beds, slatted frames and mattresses are needed, among other things.
A total of 150 of these sets were driven to a storage location in Zolling, from where the goods are then distributed as required.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
A similar picture emerged on Tuesday afternoon on Moosburger Bahnhofstraße, on the square in front of the warehouse of the aid organization Navis.
Rows of fire brigade trucks were also parked there and loading was also done diligently.
This time, however, the goods were donations in kind that had been collected in the past few days.
"Many fire brigades collected for the Ukraine and wanted to hand over the donations in kind to the airport association," reported Wolfgang Wagner from Navis on Wednesday in our newspaper.
"Unfortunately, the warehouse there is full, which is why our firefighters had to leave frustrated again."

At the request of District Fire Councilor Manfred Danner for temporary storage capacity, Wagner then made representations to the Moosburg fashion house Heilingbrunner, in whose warehouse on Bahnhofstrasse Navis had stored its own equipment for years.
"We actually only rented one floor there," explained Wagner, "but the company spontaneously made additional premises available to us."
