In 2020, the country was, together with Belgium, at the top of the list of OECD members.
Inheritance and gift tax represented 0.7% of GDP, compared to 0.3% in Germany, 0.2% in the United Kingdom, 0.1% in the United States and even less than 0. 1% in other countries like Italy, according to François Ecalle, founder of Fipeco and former magistrate at the Court of Auditors, who published a note on the subject on Thursday.
