The Bib Gourmand is awarded to restaurants that offer good and inexpensive cuisine.
There are 83 award-winning restaurants in Bavaria.
After the months-long Corona break, Bavarian top gastronomy has taken off: 12 restaurants were awarded the coveted Michelin stars.
In addition to the stars, the "Bib Gourmand" awards are also listed in the Michelin Guide restaurant guide.
This quality label is awarded to restaurants that offer particularly good value for money for carefully prepared dishes.
The award was presented for the fifth time in 2022.
And here, too, four Bavarian bars are on the list for the newly awarded restaurants: the Gasthaus Goldener Stern in Friedberg, two bars in Munich: the Asam-Schlössel and the brasserie Colette Tim Raue, and the Rai'tner Wirt in Schleching.

The portions are small, the price is high and the taste is excellent: top chefs spoil their guests with special treats.
Some have now been awarded Michelin stars.
But Bavarian restaurants also convinced the restaurant testers in other respects.

Bavaria's tourism far below the pre-crisis level
The Bavarian tourism industry only accommodated half as many guests last year as before the corona pandemic.
"The year 2021 began as it ended in 2020, with a lockdown and the associated ban on accommodation for tourists," said the State Office for Statistics on Wednesday.
In the summer, hotels, holiday apartments and campsites had more guests than in the summer of the first year of the pandemic.

For a restaurant to be awarded the Bib Gourmand, a 3-course meal in a restaurant in Germany, for example, may cost a maximum of 37 euros.
The Bib Gourmand can be recognized by the smiling face of the Michelin Man, which bears the name "Bibendum".
Traditional German cuisine can be found in the excellent establishments as well as modern and international influences.
The main focus of the Bib Gourmand is good, but inexpensive food for everyone.
