In a conversation with them, Rosin discovered that in their minds they imagined their lives being conducted mainly on the ground floor while the second floor would be used to host family members on weekends, holidays and vacations.

They also asked for a swimming pool in the yard, which would be accessible but fenced and would overlook the open field view that surrounds the court from most of its sides.

The starting point of the design was the location of the swimming pool beyond the house, in a courtyard elevated from the fields, thus creating a kind of balcony with light railings and an adjacent seating area hugged by the sides of the house.

The closed rooms of the house are located along the front facing the street and the neighboring lot, they are organized in a manner reminiscent of the letter Rish and delimit the open spaces in the center of the house. , Kitchen, gallery, bridge stairs and foyer.

The other two fronts of the house face the open fields and are therefore designed with large showcases that take full advantage of the natural landscape.

How much does it cost us?

Construction of the house was completed about a year ago.

The process of planning and issuing the permit took a year and a half while the construction took a year.

The budget for planning, construction (including the yard and the pool), furniture and equipment for the house reached NIS 4 million.

When home furniture and fittings were taken into account in advance and weighed into the budget.

Simultaneously with the construction of their new home, the couple enlisted the help of a professional woman (the "dresser") and made a difficult screening process for all the objects they had accumulated over the years in their previous home.

The parting from outdated items was at times charged and painful, but also necessary to create the sense of space and airiness that was so important to them in the new home.

Even the linens and towels are brand new.

Sort, discard, regenerate

Some of the old and beloved furniture items have been adapted to the new house and have been sanded and painted and new and fresh upholstery fabrics have been selected for them.

New rugs with updated texture and color were purchased in place of the old rugs and even the towels and bedding were all replaced with new ones.

The kitchen is equipped with new appliances, artwork and family photos have been re-framed, the silverware collected over the years has been polished and polished.

As part of the screening process, the couple even went through all the albums and family photos in the collections of CDs and records and clothes.

Some were rearranged in boxes and adapted storage, some were donated to community institutions and the needy and the rest were thrown away.

This whole arduous sorting process will be scheduled for the completion of the construction project, so that once the house was clean and ready to move all the fittings and interior items were put into their new abode.

Entrance

The entrance to the house is from the front facing the street, because of the height differences from the street the road to it from the entrance gate winds in the garden with a moderate slope.

When you open the front door, you enter a large, high and impressive foyer, the walls of which have steps that climb to the top floor.

In the center of the foyer hangs a romantic chandelier-style light fixture, which stands out in its diversity compared to the other lamps in the house.

A natural wooden bench and a 100-year-old dresser were placed under the chandelier.

From the foyer you can go upstairs to a khaki-painted iron staircase, or turn left to the guest bathroom painted in dark gray with a concrete sink and custom accessories, and to the clinic next to them.

The heart of the house

When you cross the foyer towards the inside of the house, you pass under the iron bridge and reach the heart of the house which is a double space to which all the public spaces on the ground floor (living room, dining area, kitchen) and the bridge and gallery above, on the top floor connect.

The resulting feeling is accessibility of all the functional spaces of the house as well as a sense of size and space.

The stone floor of the foyer is replaced by old-fashioned Belgian oak parquet that creates a relaxed, warm and authentic atmosphere throughout the house.

On the floor is a rug in a suitable color and size and slightly sloping furniture that transmits comfort.

All the colors chosen soothe, blend in and create harmony.

Two sides of low cabinets and large windows, one side of tall cabinets and pantry and in the middle a huge island.

Dining area, kitchen, living room

The dining area connects the center of the house to the kitchen and the pantry next to it.

On both sides are large display cases that bring in a lot of light and sun at sunset.

On the other side of the display cases are the outdoor seating area and the pergola.

The kitchen was designed

in light shades in the shape of the letter HIT with a large island in the center for sitting and cooking.

Beautiful as a picture.

In the central space, inside a sunken niche, the front door to the couple's bedroom is hidden, so that the transition from private to public is discreet and the view into the room is interrupted and privacy is maintained.

The soft and embracing bedroom overlooks the view and the nearby pool, and can be accessed directly from it.

Adjacent to the bedroom is a spacious and inviting closet and a large and bright bathroom.

The second floor

The second floor has two enclosed bedrooms, an open gallery and a bridge.

The work area in the gallery is designed so that the person sitting in it dominates the house while sitting at work next to the rustic desk, with a large display case to the right facing the balcony and the view and behind his back a wooden library set in gray boxes in several shades and sizes.

Across the bridge is a guest unit for children and grandchildren who come frequently.

The unit has a spacious bedroom, an en suite bathroom and a large, covered balcony overlooking the fields.

"Customers did not want to compromise on any detail."

"The clients in this project did not want to compromise on any detail. Therefore, every element was designed and executed in the best and uncompromising way, out of a great love for design and aesthetics," said architect Rosin.

The foyer and courtyard floor are paved with an example that combines a number of stones in different shades and textures.

"We went around with the idea for a long time and there were doubts about the size of the stone, the number of shades and the dose of diversity and the contrast between them and the end result was particularly successful," Rosin said.
