Miss Chen received a fraudulent call at 4:00 pm on Wednesday (9th), the number is a Hong Kong phone number, the male fraudster speaks fluent Mandarin and calls himself "Chen Jie", a doctor from the Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, who came to Hong Kong to support Staff of the Hong Kong Centre for Health Protection.

He said that according to Anxin’s travel records, Ms. Chen visited No. 330 Mong Kok Road last Monday (1st), she might have contracted the virus, and asked her if she knew the location of the nearest quarantine center.

After Ms. Chen said he didn't know, he checked Ms. Chen's personal information, and accurately stated her name, phone number and ID number, and asked Ms. Chen to provide her private address to help find the nearest quarantine center.

However, Ms. Chen questioned the matter, saying that she had never appeared on Mong Kok Road, so she refused to disclose her address and hung up the line.

The police responded that there were 51 cases of "fake official" phone scams using the COVID-19 as an excuse to deceive last year, with losses amounting to $21.85 million; in the first two months of this year, there were 8 cases with losses amounting to $3.69 million.
