Leonardo DiCaprio joins Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher and contributes to the fighting efforts of the Ukrainians against the Russians.
The 47-year-old Hollywood star reportedly donated more than $ 13 million to help the Ukrainian side, and as in the case of Kunis (who was born in Ukraine) here too the motive and connection is family.
Helena Indenbirken, DiCaprio's maternal grandmother who died in 2008 at the age of 93, was born in Odessa and immigrated to Germany in 1917. According to reports, DiCaprio was very attached to his grandmother who supported and encouraged him in his career and even accompanied him to red carpet events.
DiCaprio's contribution was announced on the official page of The International Visegrad Fund, with the actor himself and those on his behalf refraining from publicly announcing the act and also choosing not to respond to media inquiries for its approval.
DiCaprio, as mentioned, joins a string of celebrities taking part in fundraising for Ukraine, and besides Kutcher and Kunis also include other well-known names such as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, De Weekend, reality star Bethany Frenkel, and Game of Thrones actor Kit Harrington.
