(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 09 - Loans started by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility (MIMS) with the Ministry for the South and Territorial Cohesion to reduce water losses in distribution networks amount to 1.38 billion, with particular attention at midday.
These are interventions under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr) for 900 million and on the React Eu program, for 482 million.
These resources, underlines a note from Mims, are added to the other allocations of the PNRre to those defined with the recent Budget Law (400 million) and the advance of the Development and Cohesion Fund 2021-2027 (442 million).
Overall, the Government has decided to allocate approximately 2.7 billion euros over the next few years for the redevelopment and strengthening of national water infrastructures.
"This is a package of interventions to make water resource management more efficient, overcome the historical problem of losses in distribution networks and thus reduce the dispersion of water, an increasingly scarce resource, starting from the areas that need it most", comments the Minister Enrico Giovannini.
"Testimony of the priority assigned to this sector, I recall that we have already implemented the reform in 2021 to simplify the legislation and strengthen governance for the implementation of investments in water infrastructures, originally planned by the NRP for 2022".
"Water is one of the priorities that I have set in the management of the React-Eu, the first solidarity and cohesion program launched on the wave of the pandemic: now we are beginning to see the fruits of the work started a year ago, comments Minister MaraCarfagna." We finance works waited for years on the water networks of the main southern cities, including areas in absolute emergency such as those of Enna, Palermo and Naples: by 2023, the deadline set by React, we will have secured hundreds of kilometers of aqueducts-sieves ".
