At about 0:50 a.m. today (12th), a 60-year-old woman fell from the heights of the Hong Kong Handover Memorial Tower in Tai Po Waterfront Park.
However, the ambulancemen arrived and confirmed that the victim was apparently dead and did not need to be sent to the hospital.
It is understood that the victim fell from the top of the tower, and the police are investigating the cause of his fall.

The Hong Kong Handover Memorial Tower is 32.4 meters high and is located where the British troops landed when the British took over the New Territories.
According to the inscription under the pagoda, the villagers in the New Territories made great contributions to defending their homeland. After the Sino-British Joint Declaration was signed, the Heung Yee Kuk in the New Territories proposed and sponsored the construction of the pagoda there to commemorate the return of Hong Kong to China. .
When it was handed over in 1997, it opened at the same time as Tai Po Waterfront Park.
The Hong Kong Handover Memorial Tower is currently closed.
The LCSD said the monument will be temporarily closed from February 14 to April 5 for maintenance works.
