Without people like Alfons Bauernfeind, Alling would probably look different today.
As a local politician with passion, he promoted large projects in the community.
Alling – And he successfully fought for the independence of his hometown in the 1970s.
When the local branch of the CSU was founded in 1970, the then 36-year-old was a founding member.
Just two years later he was elected to the municipal council and was immediately elected deputy mayor.
It was the difficult time of local government reform.
Together with companions, Bauernfeind successfully campaigned for Alling to remain an independent community.
This also included trying to unify the main town with the parishes of Biburg and Holzhausen.

In addition, he was challenged by major projects that were being tackled during this time, including the construction of the sports hall and the expansion of the natural gas supply.
Bauernfeind's assertiveness and determination should have served him well in these tasks.
If he wanted something, he pulled out all the stops - that's how his family describes him.
Added to this was a keen business sense.
As a journeyman carpenter, Bauernfeind bought his own sanding machine and sanded wooden floors for customers.
From this extra income he founded his own company in 1960, which can still be found on Griesstrasse today.
In his second session on the municipal council, Bauernfeind took care of the development of the sports area as a sports officer.
Once again he was the right man in the right place, because he had a long relationship with TSV Alling – he had joined the club as an athlete at the age of 16.
He was also involved with the riflemen and the fire brigade.
He had met the woman at his side practically on his doorstep - at the "Bruckerl bei Kreitmair", a popular meeting place for the village youth in the 1950s.
Alfons Bauernfeind had two sons and a granddaughter with his Kunigunde.
Boredom was a foreign word for the busy Allinger - it stayed that way even after retirement.
He was out in the mountains and cycling.
