The continuous rainstorm in Hama Governorate since yesterday caused the interruption of communication services for 1,000 subscribers in each of the villages of Amra and Al-Daliba, which are affiliated to the Ain Halaqim Communication Center in the western Hama countryside.
Engineer Munib Al-Asfar, Hama Communications Director, said in a statement to SANA reporter that strong winds accompanied by heavy rains led to a collapse of asphalt 15 meters long and 1.5 meters deep in the village of Amra, which resulted in the disruption of the optical cable feeding the optical access unit serving the two villages and its out of service, pointing out He indicated that the maintenance workshops of the Technical Services Directorate are currently working on completing the road repair work, and once the works are completed, the technical workshops of the Hama Communications Directorate will work on repairing the cable and putting it back into service tomorrow.
Al-Asfar indicated that the fall of a tree on an overhead telephone cable in the Al-Saan Communication Center in the eastern countryside of Hama due to the storm led to the interruption of communication services for a number of subscribers, as the technical workshops headed to the site of the damage and reconnected the cable and communication services to subscribers.
