Washington - The Russian attack on Ukraine does not end.

In this connection, Russia* had accused the USA* of supporting a biological weapons program in Ukraine*.

The US government has now rejected the allegations of weapons of mass destruction in the Ukraine war*, as reported by AFP.

"The Kremlin is deliberately spreading a falsehood that the United States and Ukraine are using chemical and biological weapons in Ukraine," US State Department spokesman Ned Price said on Wednesday (March 9, 2022).

Russia is making up "false claims" "to justify its own horrific actions" in the Ukraine conflict*, he added.

Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, renewed the allegation on Thursday (March 10, 2022) that Washington had funded a biological weapons program in Ukraine.

The ministry had received documents about US military-biological activities in Ukraine, Konashenkov said in the morning briefing on the situation in Ukraine.

The aim of the Pentagon-funded research is to develop "a mechanism for the covert spread of deadly pathogens," said the ministry spokesman in Moscow.

He also referred to an alleged "American project for the transfer of pathogens by migratory birds in Ukraine, Russia and other neighboring countries," as reported by AFP.

The US would also plan research with "pathogens of birds, bats and reptiles" as well as with African swine fever and anthrax.

US-established and funded bio-labs in Ukraine have also been experimenting with “samples of bat coronaviruses.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry had already announced on Twitter on Sunday (March 6th, 2022) that the Russian armed forces had found evidence that Kyiv was “eliminating traces of the Pentagon-funded military-biological program in Ukraine”.

In response, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki tweeted on Wednesday (03/09/2022): "Now that Russia has made these false claims, we should all be alert to the possibility of Russia using chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine or conducting a false flag operation.” She also criticized that “Chinese officials are repeating these conspiracy theories.”

However, the US said on Tuesday (March 8th, 2022) that it would work with Ukraine to prevent Russian forces from seizing biological research material in the country.

In 2018, Russia accused the United States of carrying out secret biological experiments in a laboratory in Georgia.
