In the first round of the presidential elections, Gabriel Boric obtained 25.83%.

For his part, José Antonio Kast obtained 27.91% of the votes.

As none of these candidates obtained an absolute majority, they went to the second round that was held this Sunday.

The first round was marked by a vote distributed among several candidates and by a participation (47.34%) lower than that registered in the 2020 plebiscite (50.9%), and behind were all the moderate options and the representatives of the traditional political parties in Chile.

Boric then prevailed over Kast in the second round, with 55.87% of the votes, over 44.13% of his electoral opponent, and became, at 35 years old, the youngest elected president of Chile. .
