On December 27, 2021, Max Schautzer had to cope with a severe loss.

His wife Gundel died in a Cologne hospital.

To this day, the reason for her death does not seem to have been clarified, which is why the moderator has been investigating on her own for weeks.

Cologne – For Max Schautzer, the world collapsed on Boxing Day 2021: the 81-year-old had to say goodbye to his beloved wife Gundel (76).

Initially, the signs of healing seemed good.

The TV presenter is still concerned with the question of the reason for her death, as reported by tz.de.

Losing a loved one immediately pulls the rug out from under everyone's feet.

It becomes particularly dramatic when the loved one dies suddenly and you didn't have time to say goodbye.

Max Schautzer had to experience this pain firsthand last year.

His beloved wife Gundel died in a Cologne hospital on Boxing Day.

The reason for her death is still a mystery for the 81-year-old, as he now revealed to Bunte.

But Schautzer doesn't want to put up with that, which is why he does his own research.

Max Schautzer can't let go of the riddle of death

"I just can't understand why my wife died so suddenly.

When we got to the hospital, the chief doctor was full of confidence.

He said they wanted to pick Gundel up and suggested she go into rehab after her stay in the clinic.

Gundel wasn't healthy, but she came to the hospital on two legs - and a few days later she was dead,"

said Max Schautzer in an interview with Bunte.

Since then, the presenter has written numerous emails and letters to senior doctors at the hospital.

Because Max Schautzer finally wants certainty about what caused his wife to die so suddenly.

Questions like: "Could the death of my Gundel have been avoided?" or "Could she have still been with me?" have not let him go since then.

Moderator Max Schautzer thinks that his wife died of a hospital germ

A death riddle that robs the 81-year-old of all his nerves.

After a number of conversations and reading the doctors' letters, however, Max Schautzer is certain that his beloved wife died of a hospital germ.

But whether that is actually the real reason remains uncertain to this day.

In any case, the hospital did not want to comment on the assumptions against Bunte.

Nevertheless, the moderator made it clear at the beginning of the year that "the doctor was still optimistic."
