If you are Colombian and you are one of the almost 39 million people eligible to vote in the legislative elections and in the inter-party consultations on March 13, this information may interest you.

If you still do not know your polling place, the National Registry of Colombia has a series of tools available so that you can find out where your polling place is.

To do this, you must enter the Registry page and locate the left menu where it says "Check your polling place" and with your ID number check the place and voting table for the elections this Sunday, March 13.

Locate this search bar on the Registrar's page.

The search will give you the location of your polling place with information such as department, city, position and table.

Likewise, in this option you can access information on the candidates registered for these elections, the electoral cards, among others.

Can you vote somewhere other than where you live?

No. Registering the identity card in a different place than where you live constitutes a crime, according to the Penal Code.

"The registration is valid only for the residents of the place where it is made, and by registering on that site the citizen is declaring under oath that he actually lives in the corresponding city, corregimiento or police inspection," says the Registrar's Office.

From March 13, 2021, to January 13, 2022, the Colombian Registry Office opened the registration of identification cards for those who want to be included in the electoral census or "change their voting place, and thus be able to exercise the right to vote in the closest post to your residence.

The registration of identity cards for the election of Congress and inter-party consultations closed on January 13, but it is still available to register the identity card due to change of address, for example, until March 29, 2022, according to the Registry.
