Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, stressed that Western sanctions against his country will only enhance its self-sufficiency.
In response to US President Joe Biden's statements that Western sanctions are aimed at destroying the Russian economy, Polyansky said, "The departure of European and American companies from Russia will only lead to the loss of their share in the Russian market."
The United States, the European Union, Britain and a number of other countries imposed sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities under the pretext of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine aimed at protecting the Donbass population, neutralizing and disarming Ukraine to protect Russia's national security.
