Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed during a telephone conversation today with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz the latest developments in Ukraine.

The Russian presidency said in a statement that Putin briefed Macron and Scholz, during a tripartite phone call, on the reality of the humanitarian situation in the areas of the Russian operation in Ukraine, in addition to the results of virtual meetings that took place in the form of a video conference in recent days between Russian and Ukrainian officials.

The statement pointed out that the Russian President revealed, in particular, multiple cases of violations of international humanitarian law standards by Ukrainian forces, including the extrajudicial execution of those with different opinions, the taking of hostages, the use of civilians as human shields, the deployment of heavy weapons in residential neighborhoods and on

The statement noted that Putin urged Macron and Scholz to influence the Kyiv authorities to put an end to such criminal acts.
