The council of Tarba town in the eastern countryside of As-Suwayda worked today to withdraw and secure a number of citizens' cars stuck in snow and ice between the villages of Tarba and Umm Dhabib due to the prevailing weather conditions.
Hussein Safi, head of the readiness department in the governorate, said in a statement to SANA reporter that as soon as an emergency situation was reported in the aforementioned place, the Tarba municipal council was directed to provide assistance and secure the stuck cars, especially since the continued air activity, snowfall and ice formation did not yet allow the movement of service mechanisms to open roads that require this. .
Mamdouh Salam, head of the Tarba town council, said that the area in which the cars were suspended had accumulated layers of snow, according to the direction of the wind, as it was subjected to freezing, which impeded the movement of mechanisms, which required the council’s intervention to help more than ten stuck cars and facilitate their movement.
A source in the Suwayda Traffic Branch between this morning said that all roads leading to the Al-Mashnaf district and its villages, and the roads leading to Namira Shahba, Umm Dhubayb, Tema and Gheda Namira, are impassable with difficulty due to the accumulation of snow and ice formation, calling on citizens and road users to be careful and not drive in such circumstances except for necessity.
