Thanks to its high density of oligarchs, Tegernsee has made it into the current edition of today's show.

Putin confidante Alischer Usmanow and the demo against him in Rottach-Egern were also topics.

Tegernsee - "An estimated ten oligarchs live at Tegernsee," claims moderator Oliver Welke in the current edition of Germany's most well-known satirical show,

today's show

on ZDF.

The estimate is probably not that far-fetched.

Tegernsee oligarchs on today's show: not so far-fetched

Rottach-Egern's town hall manager Gerhard Hofmann alone assumes that there are "a good handful in our place".

In addition, there is Ivan Shabalow from Moscow, who earns money with pipelines for Gazprom and owns a house in Tegernsee, as well as other rich Russians with Kremlin connections in Gmund.

Incidentally, everything can be read in our extensive research on the oligarchs and Putin friends at Tegernsee, who were actually always welcome in the valley because of their money - now you have an attitude problem because Putin brutally attacked the Ukraine and is murdering there (everything on the topic on our topic page on the Ukraine war).

Today's show lets the oligarch's wife Valeria perform - she has a villa on Lake Tegernsee

"We are also refugees in a way," says oligarch's wife Valeria (embodied by Valerie Niehaus) of a "live switch" from Monte Carlo.

"Our capital has been on the run since January, it's all alone in some offshore accounts in Panama." Now her husband also has to send the family's yacht to the Maldives for fear it would be confiscated in Europe.

"Do you know how much that costs?

Gasoline has become insanely expensive.

I don't even know why." And her husband can't even deduct it from his taxes because he doesn't pay any taxes.

"But nobody talks about it.

Instead, everyone's just pissed off no matter where we go.

My husband and I, for example, we have a house on Lake Tegernsee.” A sectional view follows showing one of the villas of the Tegernsee oligarch Alischer Usmanow.

Usmanow is probably the most prominent oligarch at Tegernsee.

He is a close confidante of Valdimir Putin, one of Russia's richest people and media mogul.

Valeria says about Usmanow's villa on ZDF: "Well no, not that, our house is much bigger.

It's just my five-year-old daughter's playhouse.” Usmanow actually owns several properties in Rottach-Egern.

Then follows a sectional view of the demonstration against Usmanov in the Kurpark in Rottach-Egern, during which hundreds protested against Putin's war and Usmanov's unabashed, luxurious life on Lake Tegernsee.

According to reports, the oligarch had already left Germany, probably to his old homeland of Uzbekistan.

The oligarch's wife in

today's show

has a different interpretation: "And recently there are always angry people in front of them, with signs and blue and yellow flags," Valeria comments on the demonstrators.

"No idea.

Are these Swedes?

I dont know.

And they shout that we should move away because of Putin.”

Rottach-Egern sentence with a dig at Lago di Bonzo

And then comes the sentence that, despite the disturbing topic, probably brought a smile to the face of many from the region: "I mean, the neighbors are demonstrating.

People from this, well, what's the name of that poor village, this favela by the lake?

Rottach-Egern - exactly!"

“I mean, neighbors are demonstrating.

Valerie Niehaus from oligarch's wife "Valeria"

To have the Russian super-rich Rottach-Egern of all places - where, according to current real estate prices, even a small homeowner is a millionaire on paper - called a "lakeside favela" is a trick that works.

And yes, compared to Usmanov's estimated 13 billion euros, his neighbors, who probably don't even have more than 100 million euros, seem like poor wimps.

Putin friends at Tegernsee: Everything belongs to some shell company

And ZDF presenter Oliver Welke addresses what is also on the minds of many in the valley: "And so far the German state has not been able to confiscate or freeze anything." Valeria explains in Monte-Carlo completely correctly in feigned bad German: " Fine, but there's a simple reason for that.

Herr Welke, your state is very stupid.

He can't even prove who owns what, because we're allowed to camouflage it with letterbox companies.

You shouldn't have done that."

The town halls in the valley also confirm this.

The real estate purchases, the building permits, the name Usmanow doesn't appear anywhere.

Everything is handled through shell companies.

So it's quite possible that it will actually be difficult at Tegernsee to freeze Umsanow's property - despite the sanctions in force.

Usmanow's yacht in Hamburg has not yet been confiscated either.
