The heavy snowfall and its accumulation, whose thickness reached 40 cm during the past two days in the far northwest of Hama Governorate, led to the closure of the vital Nahr Al-Bared Beit Yashout road that connects the coast to Hama Governorate, which required the intervention of mechanisms to clear it and restore it to service.
Lieutenant-Colonel Hossam Abbas, director of Salhab area, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the police units of Salhab area, in cooperation with the General Authority for the Management and Development of Al-Ghab, worked since the early hours of the morning to open the road and ensure traffic safety for cars.
In turn, Eng. Ibrahim Hamidush, Head of the Heavy Machinery Department in the General Authority for the Management and Development of the Al-Ghab, confirmed the complete readiness of the machinery, which has been working for two days to remove the accumulated snow and open the road, calling on drivers to exercise caution and caution in order to ensure their safety.
