Ukrainian forces attacked the Russian merchant ship “Surmovsky 3064” in the Sea of Azov.
The Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement today that "Ukrainian forces fired at the ship indiscriminately when it was at sea 12 kilometers from the town of Shabelskoye in the Cherbinovsky district of the Krasnadar region," pointing out that the ship was heading from Greece to the Russian city of Taganrog.
The committee indicated that no injuries were recorded as a result of the accident, explaining that the fire caught the main cabin of the ship as a result of a projectile collision in it, but the fire was controlled by the ship's crew and continued navigation.
The commission indicated that it had begun investigating a criminal case regarding attempted murder by targeting the ship.
The Russian army continues to advance on several axes within the framework of its special operation in Ukraine, which has entered its seventeenth day, aimed at protecting the residents of Donbass, neutralizing Ukraine and disarming it to protect Russia's national security.
