A drunk man was in a chase with the police in the middle of Vaterstetten (Ebersberg district) - putting the lives of innocent people at risk.

BALDHAM

- Just before midnight on Friday, March 11, a patrol crew from Poing Police Station wanted to conduct a general traffic stop on a silver Mercedes Vito.

When the 35-year-old driver realized he was about to be stopped by officers, he significantly accelerated his vehicle and drove through Baldham at extremely high speed.

Officials report this the following day.

Escape attempt: Driver turns off headlights

Since the Mercedes driver wanted to escape from the patrol crew, he also switched off his car headlights during his escape so that he could hide better and thus evade control.

In the Karl-Böhm-Straße/Frühlingstraße, the driver could finally be stopped after a short successful search, according to the Poinger inspection.

When driving at night without lights, the fugitive had previously ignored the activated stop signal generator of the patrol car.

Alcohol control after a chase shows that the driver should never have gotten into the car

According to the police, during the traffic control, the previously fled man stated that he had consumed alcohol before starting his journey.

Apparently in large quantities: According to the officials, a breath alcohol test carried out afterwards showed a value of 1.84 per mille.

A blood test was then ordered, which was carried out at the Poing police station.

After the completion of the necessary measures, the traffic offender was released.

The driver's license was withdrawn from the 35-year-old and prevented from continuing to drive.

According to the investigators, he is now awaiting criminal proceedings for the offenses of “drunk driving” and “prohibited motor vehicle racing”.
