A Canadian businessman is shot to death in Playa del Carmen

According to the Mexican authorities, a minor, the daughter of the Canadian citizen, suffered minor injuries during the attack. There are two suspects in custody.


A Canadian businessman was killed in a firearm attack this Saturday in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, local authorities reported.

The victim, who has not been identified by the Mexican authorities, was driving a car on the federal highway that goes from Cancun to Playa del Carmen when two armed individuals on motorcycles intercepted him, according to the newspaper Reforma.

A minor who was traveling in the car was injured during the attack, the daughter of the late businessman.

According to the Quintana Roo Attorney General's Office, she suffered minor injuries and is no longer in danger.
