In the classroom where they studied Torah, mattresses were deployed, and in front of the Holy of Holies rest the Jews who had fled their homes.

The Chabad yeshiva building in the city of Dnipro, which housed several dozen boys, who fled the country in a dramatic rescue last week, has become a refuge for refugees fleeing the difficult battle zones.

Following the fear of the Russian invasion, the Federation of Jewish Communities in Ukraine decided to convert the yeshiva complexes into a camp for Jewish refugees who had fled Kiev, Kharkiv and the eastern part of the country to the city.

Thus, the boarding school and the yeshiva hall housed dozens of Jewish refugees, who found rest from the path of the wanderings to which they set out.

"These are older Jews, most of whom are in a difficult medical condition, who are not in a position to go on a long journey that will last a few days," says Rabbi Meir Stumbler, chairman of the federation. For all their scarcity.

"Since last Friday, missiles also began to land on us, but Dnipro is still considered the safest city among the big cities. Therefore, the traffic of Jews to it from all over eastern Ukraine is very large. Every day we catch hundreds of Jews, a minority stay and most continue on trains and buses. We hire for that. "

At the same time, dozens of employees and volunteers of the federation have finished working on the preparation of 50,000 parcel deliveries, which will be distributed for the Purim holiday on behalf of Chabad and with the help of the "European Rabbinical Center", to Jews all over Ukraine.

All shipments have already left all over the country: from Donetsk and Lugansk in the east, which are under Russian occupation, to Uzhgorod and Khust at its western end, near the Slovak border;

From Oberuch in the north, near the Belarusian border to Mogilev-Podolsk in the south, which borders Moldova.

Each package includes a scroll with a Russian and Ukrainian translation, manna ears, chocolates, snacks and mini pastries.

The Chabadniks are also engaged in spiritual activity. In parallel with all this, and under fire, a special 75-page booklet was published in Ukraine in Hebrew and Russian, explaining the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe on matters of faith and trust in Gd, and encouraging anticipation of redemption.

According to Rabbi Stumbler, "Despite the horrors of war, we make an effort to bring every Jew the joy of the holiday, out of a prayer that this year, too, we will have miracles."
