From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the government successively enclosed Oi Shun House and Oi Lai House in Yau Oi Estate, Tuen Mun, Block 3 of Tsui Ning Garden in Tuen Mun, and Lee Yik House in Shun Lee Estate in Kwun Tong.

The government will set up temporary sampling stations in "restricted areas" and require people to be tested by tonight.

Those who are inspected will be arranged to undergo nucleic acid testing at the sampling station, and a combined throat and nasal swab will be collected by a designated person.

Before all people have the test results, the tested persons must stay in the premises to reduce the risk of cross-infection. The government will make arrangements to facilitate sampling for those who have special difficulties in moving.

Those in the "restricted area" who were diagnosed with novel coronavirus disease on or after December 31 last year will not be required to be tested in the mandatory testing operation.

According to the mandatory testing announcement issued today, apart from the above-mentioned specified persons, any person who has been in the above-mentioned building for more than two hours between February 28 and March 13, even if the “relevant announcement” came into effect, was not under the “relevant announcement”. "Restricted areas" must also undergo mandatory testing on or before March 15.

People who have been vaccinated and who have been tested recently are still required to be tested because of the variant virus strain involved.

The government urges those tested to cooperate fully, to register and take the test, and to stay at home and wait patiently for the results.

The government will seriously follow up on the compliance of persons under inspection with the announcement of mandatory testing and the announcement of restrictions and testing.

Any relevant person who fails to comply with the mandatory testing notice commits an offence and is liable to a fixed fine of $10,000 and will receive a mandatory testing order requiring the person to undergo testing within a specified period.

Failure to comply with a Mandatory Testing Order or a Restriction and Testing Declaration commits an offence and is liable to a fine at level 4 ($25,000) and imprisonment for six months.
