Schwaig or Holzkirchen: who will get their first national league points this year?

Schwaig – TuS Holzkirchen is visiting FC Schwaig for the second game of the spring round in the state league on Sunday.

The game in the arena in the sports park starts at 2 p.m.

Both teams left the field as losers in their first competitive games this year.

Ex-Bayernliga side Holzkirchen lost their catch-up game in Eggenfelden 0-2 two weeks ago.

"Actually a typical 0-0 game," says department head Markus Müller about the guest appearance in Rottal, which was decided by a double strike in the 64th and 68th minute by the newly promoted team.

The start of spring was completely different for Schwaig.

Before the winter break, the promoted team decided many games in the final minutes, but this time the hosts TSV Ampfing scored the 3-2 winner in injury time.

Holzkirchen had to watch last weekend.

“Our place is still frozen, nothing works.

We can train on the school's artificial turf pitch, but no games are allowed there," says the TuS sports director.

"So it's quite fitting that we have four away games in a row in March," Müller says.

In terms of personnel, things are looking good for the Haid-Road team.

"Apart from one or two corona cases, we have no failures," reports Müller.

At FC Schwaig, the failures are fewer.

At least by one, "because Daniel Stich is back in the squad and fortunately nobody was injured," says player-coach Ben Held.

He still has to do without the long-term injured Daniel Fichtlscherer and Maximilian Buchauer, Marvin Potoku is not yet one hundred percent healthy.

"Schwaig messed up" was a headline on the internet after the Ampfing defeat.

The climber is now simply perceived differently after the incredible lap before the winter break.

Hero knows that too.

"But defeats are part of it, and if it's more than one in a row, then that's not a catastrophe either."

While Holzkirchen's opponents don't have enough space to play at home, "it's looking pretty good in Schwaig," says Held with satisfaction.

"With the space available, it should definitely be possible to play good football.

There are definitely worse conditions elsewhere," says the coach of the Sportfreunde, who are in third place in the state league.

Tip: 3: 1 for Schwaig
