A skier died on Sunday on a slope in the resort of Les Orres (Hautes-Alpes) after a violent collision with another user, AFP learned from the resort.

around 10:30 a.m., on a black slope
" in the ski area, station director Xavier Corne told AFP.

Unfortunately one of the two skiers died
,” he added, specifying that the victim is a 42-year-old man, resident in Aix-en-Provence and of Spanish nationality.

An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the collision
," he said.

The other skier, aged 17 and a half, was "
hospitalized in Gap
