This is a big surprise: Felix Magath follows Tayfun Korkut as a trainer at Hertha BSC.
The coach, known for his hard hand, is supposed to save the Berliners from relegation from the Bundesliga.
Berlin - Nobody in Berlin expected this solution: Felix Magath is returning to the Bundesliga after ten years as a coach and is supposed to protect Hertha BSC from imminent relegation.
“Felix Magath's CV speaks for itself.
He has proven many times that with his experience he can turn the right screws in any sporting situation to lead us out of our sportingly challenging situation," said Hertha's managing director Fredi Bobic on Sunday evening.

A few hours earlier, the Berliners had parted ways with their coach Tayfun Korkut after five defeats and falling to 17th place.
After Pal Dardai and Korkut, Magath is the third Hertha coach this season and the seventh since 2019.
“I had very clear talks with Fredi Bobic.
We are aware of the sporting situation.
I'm ready to use all my experience to help them stay up.
What's important now is that everyone is fully focused on the remaining games," said Magath.
The 68-year-old coached VfL Wolfsburg until 2012.
Before that he was active in seven other Bundesliga clubs, with FC Bayern and Wolfsburg he was German champion.
He once saved VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt from relegation.
In England, Magath was unsuccessful as manager of FC Fulham in 2014.
Only one engagement in China followed.
Most recently, he worked for the company Flyeralarm as a consultant for the Würzburg Kickers and the Austrian club Admira Wacker Mödling.
Magath is to be introduced as coach at a press conference in Berlin on Monday at 1 p.m.
The first game on the Hertha bench is the game on Saturday in the Olympic Stadium against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
