Today, the People's Assembly held its twenty-first session of the fifth regular session of the third legislative session, headed by Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Assembly.
A number of council members called for tightening control over markets, reducing prices, combating monopoly and punishing monopolists and those who exploit the needs of citizens in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 8 of 2021.
Some members called for an increase in salaries for state workers, speeding up the amendment of the contract law, and securing alternative energy for important sectors such as banks and ATMs, to ensure the sustainability of their work, to provide owners of small projects in Daraa with their allocations of diesel, to automate the process of distributing agricultural diesel, and to accelerate the implementation of investment projects in the Corniche of the waterfront in Tartous Governorate, and to exempt graduates Affected colleges and institutes in Al-Hasakah governorate are required to submit a graduation certificate for the central competition and cancel the import license for the importer who proves his monopoly on the imported materials.
The Council approved the draft law, which includes amending the fees collected by the Ministry of Industry in exchange for the services it provides, after discussing it extensively, and it became a law.
According to the aforementioned draft law, Law No. 12 of 2018 amending the fees for services provided by the Ministry of Industry and its affiliated bodies is repealed.
Minister of State for People's Assembly Affairs Abdullah Abdullah also gave a presentation on the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers in its previous session.
In his speech on the occasion of the fifty-ninth anniversary of the March 8 revolution, Sabbagh stressed that it constituted an important turning point in the contemporary history of Syria and that its achievements were crystallized and consolidated at various levels with the establishment of the corrective movement led by the founding leader Hafez al-Assad and it continued steadfastly through the process of development and modernization led by President Bashar al-Assad Adhering to the national and national principles and constants, and defending Syria's just causes, saluting the souls of Syria's righteous martyrs and the brave Syrian Arab Army.
The session, which was attended by Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh, was adjourned to 1:00 p.m. tomorrow, Monday.
