The government is implementing a "vaccine passport" linked to the number of vaccine doses. However, the latest recommendation by the Joint Scientific Committee under the Centre for Health Protection is that if two or more doses of the vaccine have been administered before infection, re-vaccination is not required after recovery.
Au Ka-wing, chief doctor of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health, said today (13th) that infected patients can be considered to have received one shot of the vaccine. The arrangement is to be announced by the Food and Health Bureau later.

Au Jiarong said that the scientific committee made recommendations yesterday on the vaccination arrangements for Hong Kong's new crown patients after recovery. Patients who have not been vaccinated can receive two shots. For patients with normal immunity, they can be regarded as having received one shot after infection. It is suggested that citizens should make vaccination arrangements based on their age, immunity, vaccine selection, etc. It is blunt that there is no so-called "certificate of exemption from vaccination".
He added that if a patient has a positive nucleic acid test, or a positive rapid test on or after February 26, and has reported it through an online platform, including submitting identification documents, it will be considered a confirmed case after verification. A quarantine order will be issued to the person concerned.
As for the "vaccination pass" arrangement, he said that the Food and Health Bureau will explain in detail later.
For patients who test positive but are not arranged to be admitted to hospital or community isolation facilities, if they do not receive an isolation order, the European Union will issue a recertification later to confirm that they are new crown patients.
Ou Jiarong said that infected patients can be regarded as having received one shot of the vaccine. If they have received two shots before infection, they do not need to receive a third shot after recovery.
