An explosion in the kitchen of the Kool Beach restaurant in Playa del Carmen, in the Mexican Caribbean, left at least two dead and some 19 injured, the Secretary of Public Security of Quintana Roo said on his Twitter account, Louis Hernandez.
Hernández added that the emergency forces continue to work at the scene.
For its part, the State Prosecutor's Office indicated on its Twitter account that there was a gas leak and is investigating what happened.
