The former polemicist invoked the "French tradition of dialogue with Russia" to manage the declared war on Ukraine.

Asked about his position vis-à-vis Russia in the context of the invasion of Ukraine, Eric Zemmour asserted the “

duty of power

” which, according to him, is imposed on France.

On the set of La France face à la guerre, on TF1, Eric Zemmour thus estimated that “

de Gaulle taught us one thing, it is that defense must be national.

Any war must be our war and our defense must be our defense

”.

The former polemicist thus wishes to abound the defense budget so that it goes from 41 billion to 70 billion by 2030.

Eric Zemmour thus recalled his wish for France to leave NATO's integrated command and his ambition to maintain "

a French tradition of dialogue with Russia

", in the wake, according to him, of Nicolas Sarkozy or Jacques Chirac.

Thus, the Reconquest candidate!

refuses to qualify Vladimir Putin as a dictator, while admitting that he has "

hard, tyrannical methods, but which I will not qualify

".

At the same time, Eric Zemmour insists on his desire to fight against immigration: “

crises accumulate, but do not cancel each other out.

That is to say that it is not because we have a crisis in the west that we no longer have a crisis in the south

”, he argued.
