The Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had handed over to the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics weapons and combat equipment seized by the Russian army from the Ukrainian forces.
The ministry said in a statement that these spoils were left by the Ukrainian armed forces, ultra-nationalist battalions and the Ukrainian regional defense battalions, in addition to weapons that were stored in warehouses or were disabled in the course of the special military operation carried out by Russia.
The ministry confirmed that weapons and combat equipment, whether Soviet-made or sent by Western countries to Ukraine, are being delivered to the Donbass republics after ensuring their validity, technical safety and repair.
The ministry noted that during the special operation in Ukraine, the Russian army seized large quantities of combat equipment, which will be used later to liberate the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
