The Republic Youth Weightlifting Championship concluded today with the participation of more than 70 players from different governorates and authorities.
The Hama team ranked first with 252 points, followed by the Army Club with 229 points, the Police Club with 204 points, the Tartous team with 177 points, and the Aleppo team with 154 points.
In a statement to SANA, Hassanein Al-Sheikh, head of the Weightlifting Federation, confirmed that the championship witnessed strong competitions between all teams and bodies, especially between the Hama team and the army and police bodies, and five Syrian records were broken in this championship.
For his part, Mohamed Rasha, coach of the Hama national team, indicated that the tournament was good and useful, and showed many young materials, pointing to the strength of competition among all players.
