Two people were killed near the Antonov aircraft factory, and another in a residential area.
The capital is now "a city under siege", according to the deaths of an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The first airstrike came shortly before 8 a.m.
A bombardment against a residential building in Kiev left at least one dead and 12 injured, according to Ukrainian relief, which had initially announced that two people had died.
The Russian strike hit an eight-storey building in the Obolon district in northern Kiev.
According to the emergency services, three other people were hospitalized and nine received treatment and support at the scene.
An aircraft factory on fire
A second salvo of Russian shelling killed two people shortly before 11 a.m.
Seven people were also injured in these Russian strikes which targeted the Antonov aeronautical factory and also hit an apartment building in Kiev, according to the town hall of the Ukrainian capital.
A video broadcast by state television Nexta also showed the factory on fire this morning.
The intensification of Russian strikes comes in a still very tense context in Kiev, which has been resisting for eighteen days and the start of the Russian invasion on February 24.
The capital battle, the army is gradually approaching and life has come to a standstill in Kiev, where residents have stocked up on medicine and food, while numerous barricades have been erected across the city.
