The police of al-Kiswah district, in Damascus countryside, announced that they uncovered a complicity between a gas distributor and workers at the gas filling center in Adra to fill cylinders with excessive weight, then unload them and sell the excess quantities on the black market.
Regarding the details, the Ministry of Interior stated, in a statement that SANA received a copy of, that information was received by the police of al-Kiswah district that one of the gas agents had stolen quantities of gas from cylinders within its center designated for selling and delivering cylinders to citizens in collusion with workers at the gas filling center in Adra, where the police investigated the aforementioned center. I found household gas cylinders, travel gases, and gas-discharge connections.
The ministry indicated that by investigating the house of the gas commissioner, in the presence of the mayor of the neighborhood, a number of domestic and industrial gas cylinders were found, and by interrogating the authorized person, he admitted that he was emptying the cylinders containing additional gas into empty cylinders and selling them on the black market in agreement and participation with a car driver, who admitted his complicity with some Workers of Adra Gas Filling Center on filling gas cylinders with excess weight in exchange for material benefit.
The ministry pointed out that those involved were arrested and the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection has been informed of the distribution of gas cylinders to their beneficiaries under the supervision of the police of the Kiswa district and the district's mukhtar, and that investigations are continuing with the arrested to reveal all those involved in the case to take legal action against them.
On the 11th of this month, the judicial police in the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in the Damascus countryside governorate, in cooperation with the Directorate of Al-Kiswah district, seized a car loaded with 325 household gas cylinders, because its owner had tampered with the weights of the cylinders.
