The celebration of Aleppo and the Arab Day of the Arabic Language included lectures by university professors on the importance of the language of Dhad and its connection to the city of Al-Shahba, and a plastic exhibition of calligraphy art that combines drawing with Arabic calligraphy.

The celebration, which was organized by the University of Aleppo on the amphitheater of the Great College of Medicine at the university, included sessions on global linguistic competition and the place of Arabic in it, the universality of our language and its history over centuries, Aleppo Saif al-Dawla, al-Mutanabi and Abu Firas al-Hamdani, as well as honoring a number of members of the Arabic Language Academy.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Dr. Maher Karman, President of Aleppo University, confirmed the university's interest in providing care for research carried out by students, especially those related to Arabic, as it is the main carrier of the national identity and the incubator of all scientific and literary ideas.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, head of the Arab Writers Union, pointed to the importance of adhering to the Arabic language, preserving it and strengthening its presence in education and the media, pointing to the need to confront currents that call for weakening and undermining our language.

Dr. Hussain Juma'a, in a speech by the National Committee for UNESCO, stated that the language of Daad still protects its children, and the idea of ​​caring for it must be enshrined in all members of society and strengthening its love in their souls, especially the intellectuals.

In the speech of the Arabic Language Academy, Dr. Issa Ali Al-Akoub spoke about the Academy’s continuous pioneering role in preserving the language through its issuance of books and dictionaries, especially as it is the first complex to be established in the Arab world.

The participant, Dr. Waheed Kababa, in the Department of Arabic Language, explained that the first session dealt with the journey of the Arabic Language Day from the University of Aleppo and Damascus to Tunisia and UNESCO and its relationship to other languages, the Qur’an and the future.

Dr. Ahmed Kaddour talked about the importance of giving appreciation to Arabic in schools, universities and daily life, because it lives with its children and its presence increases with the increase in their interest in it.

The event included the opening of the Art Exhibition in Arabic, which was held in cooperation with the Union of Fine Artists in Ibn Bitar Hall, and included the display of 21 paintings by artists Khaldoun Al-Ahmad, Ahmed Qassem and Dr. Zuhair Ayroud, expressing the aesthetics of the Arabic letter within the plastic painting with high professionalism and deviation from classicism.
