There is a fire in the rainforest house - the fire brigade is there quickly.
Cologne – A fire in the rainforest house at Cologne Zoo triggered a major fire brigade operation on Tuesday evening.
The fire was brought under control after a good hour, the zoo said.
Visitors were no longer in the zoo - it was already closed.
According to the emergency services, no one was injured.
According to the zoo, few of the Southeast Asian animals living in the rainforest house died in the free-flight hall.

The fire broke out in the multi-purpose hall of the rainforest house that opened in 2000.
There are no animal facilities there.
Local residents reported smoke over the zoo around 6:20 p.m., said a spokeswoman for the fire brigade.
Presumably, food caught fire in the basement of the tropical house.
The animals should be protected with smoke extraction measures.
More than 50 emergency services were on site, it said shortly after the fire broke out.
The zoo said the amount of damage and the cause of the fire were still being determined.
The investigation could only be completed in the coming days.
