In the fight against the planned gravel pit in the district of Oberhasling, the Irschenberg citizens' initiative reminded the community this afternoon that they are also responsible for the road safety of their little citizens.

And some parents see this increasingly endangered on the road when the planned gravel mining becomes reality - and with it around 50 trips a day with heavy 40-ton trucks through the village.

Almost 20 children and just as many adults gathered yesterday at the church square near the town hall for a silent protest.

Mayor Klaus Meixner (CSU) didn't notice anything.

He stayed with the district development committee of the district council in Miesbach.

Otherwise, no representative of the community officially contacted the group.

It is a long tradition in Irschenberg that the public municipal council meeting is not "discussed" publicly in advance.

When Mayor Klaus Meixner (CSU) took office, this practice was transformed into three non-public committees in 2019.

But traditions are long-lived.

When it came to gravel extraction, internal preparation was used again.
