With numerous actions, Eching shows a big heart for the people from Ukraine.

Eching

– A great wave of solidarity has gripped the people of Europe to support Ukraine in the Russian war of aggression with humanitarian aid.

Eching also helps: starting with the collection campaigns, which were organized by the fire brigades in Dietersheim, Eching and Günzenhausen with great voluntary commitment, through appeals for donations and benefit events to taking in refugees.

And the commitment is far from over.

Top priority

In view of the large number of refugees, accommodation has top priority.

From this Tuesday, the Realschule gymnasium should also be available as accommodation.

In addition to the first refugees, who are housed in the accommodation on Oskar-von-Miller-Straße and supported by the Echinger volunteer group, a number of other Ukrainians, mostly women and children, have been taken in privately or in hotels.

The Ukrainian-born Alexander Lifar from Dietersheim was able to provide a safe roof over the heads of more than 20 compatriots scattered throughout the region after they fled the war.

According to managing director Christopher Riemensperger, six rooms in the OlympMunich were occupied on Friday by a total of 17 people, nine adults and eight children.

Spontaneous invitation

To take care of them, Marijana Jegg, tenant of the Echinger Hof, spontaneously jumped in and invited everyone to dinner.

She can put herself in the position of the war refugees: Because in the Croatian war in the 1990s "I was a refugee myself".

She emphasizes: "People from Ukraine urgently need support."

A blitz action

Magdalena and Josef Kurz from Pfabhof near Ottenburg have already acted quickly: In a lightning campaign, they cleared out their organic farm shop with friends and converted it into a 65 square meter apartment for a family of five.

The Ukrainian couple, aged 36 and 32 respectively, with three children aged one, five and seven, arrived by car on Saturday after a long flight from Kyiv.

The fact that the husband was also allowed to leave the country is thanks to his marital status as a father of three.

The Kurz family's farm sales are now handled via a community sales hut, which the building yard delivered quickly and easily.

Social networks

On Saturday, the ice cream parlor Vaniglia in the “Alter Wirt” shopping center showed how to set up a charity campaign – at short notice and only communicated via social networks.

Allessandro Libero and his wife Carlotta have already donated all the proceeds from the ice cream sales to the “Germany Helps” alliance: the proud sum of 1407 euros could be transferred.

The ice cream parlor was supported by its neighbors, a veterinary practice and the shop "form&spiel".

The owners Amelie and Marie-Luise Burglechner also donated the proceeds from the sale of (decorative) peace doves to the Ukraine Aid.

The proceeds from the pre-Easter sales campaigns by the Protestant and Catholic parishes are also intended to benefit the people of Ukraine.

benefit concert

Support was also expressed musically: The classical concert with the Ukrainian piano virtuoso Milana Chernyavska and the Austrian violinist David Frühwirth, which took place on Saturday under the telling title "together, next to each other and for each other", was quickly converted into a benefit event.

Rearranged without further ado: Because a family has found accommodation in Magdalena and Josef Pfab's farm shop, the goods are now sold at a stand.
