You may remember those days at the beginning of December 2021. At the time, the evocation of the right again rhymed with the hypothesis of a presidential victory after two consecutive failures, in 2012 and in 2017. Valérie Pécresse had just won easily against Éric Ciotti in the Congress final, almost the entire LR family was gathered around its new leader and polls even showed a mano a mano in the event of a match with Emmanuel Macron in the second round.
So what happened in just over three months for the right to become disillusioned so quickly and for its candidate to find herself relegated to fourth or even fifth position?
If the one who wears the colors of the Republicans charts her course and somehow accelerates her campaign,
the caciques of the party are somewhat disconcerted - and pessimistic - in the face of the outcome of this candidacy.
