Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed in a telephone conversation with the President of the European Council Charles Michel the situation in Ukraine.
The Kremlin said in a statement posted on its website that Putin and Michel discussed, in a phone call, the Russian special military operation to protect civilians in the Donbass region and humanitarian aspects, including the procedures for evacuating civilians.
According to the statement, Putin indicated during the call that "the European Union leadership, in its public assessment, ignored the developments of the criminal and inhuman operations carried out by the Ukrainian military yesterday, which included the missile strike on a residential neighborhood in the city center of Donetsk using cluster munitions, which resulted in several civilian casualties."
The Russian President also reviewed the ongoing negotiations with Kyiv to formulate an agreement that takes into account the Russian demands, pointing out at the same time that Kyiv does not show its efforts to search for solutions that satisfy both parties.
