Ski accident in Ischgl: winter sports enthusiasts tried to revive him - but the 27-year-old German died

A skier (27) from Germany died after an accident on the slopes in Ischgl.
The vacationer had previously hit another skier.

"For no apparent reason", the 27-year-old skier drove head-on into the back of a German skier (65) on Sunday afternoon (March 13), according to the Tyrol police in Austria.
The 65-year-old was traveling from the mountain station of the Langen Wandbahn in the direction of the Greitspitzsattel at around 11:30 a.m. when the 27-year-old suddenly bumped into him.

Both skiers fell.
The 65-year-old stayed around eight meters below the scene of the accident with unspecified injuries in the area of his back and left chest.
The 27-year-old fell, hit a sign and remained unconscious on the slope.
Subsequent skiers began immediately with first aid measures and set the rescue chain in motion.
The injured young man was flown with the emergency doctor to the hospital on the Idalpe with the emergency doctor helicopter.
According to the Tyrol police, the 27-year-old died there at 12.40 p.m. from his injuries.
A day of skiing in East Tyrol also ended in death for a German vacationer.
When the man was missing from dinner, the hotel manager called the emergency services.
Avalanche accident in Austria
Despite the perfect weather on Friday (March 11), three tourers died in an avalanche accident in Austria.
In December 2021, three young athletes died in a slab of snow in Austria.
They were in a group of eleven ski tourers when the avalanche released.
Warning level 3 prevailed.
