Kyiv - The Ukraine war has now lasted almost three weeks.

On the 20th day of the Russian invasion, fighting and attacks continue unabated.

But people are not giving up hope that the so far fruitless negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will lead to a ceasefire.

Yesterday, Monday (03/14/2022), the negotiators of both sides began new talks via video.

Although the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia were interrupted due to a "technical break" without any tangible results, the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has now confirmed that the negotiations are to be continued today.

That could be a ray of hope in the previously dark Ukraine war.

Ukraine war: Selenskyj is confident before negotiations

In fact, Zelenskyy is apparently hoping for serious progress from today's negotiations with Russia.

Russia has "already begun to understand that it will not achieve anything with war," said Zelenskyj in a video message published on Tuesday night on his Facebook page.

Zelenskyj also gave a positive assessment of the most recent round of negotiations on Monday.

He was told that the talks had gone "pretty well".

"But let's wait and see," restricted Zelenskyj with a view to the new negotiations on Tuesday.

Nevertheless, Selenskyj's statement gives hope.

This is also in view of the fact that Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin had already spoken of “positive progress” in the ongoing negotiations between Russia and Ukraine on Friday (March 11, 2022).
