The municipality of Straßlach-Dingharting is now connected to the main route.
Straßlach - In Straßlach-Dingharting, a new cycle path is being built over a distance of 4.1 kilometers.
It closes a gap between Großdingharting and the "Ludwig Geräuter" path in the Grünwalder Forest and connects the community to the main Sauerlach-Oberhaching-Munich cycle route.
The community citizens can then cycle to Munich via a well-developed feeder road on paved paths.
The goal is to expand the cycle path to a width of at least three meters.
The municipality had applied for the new building in the district of Munich.
The Building of the County Council has given the nod to a resolution unanimously to build the proposed bike path at the expense of the district.
Upon completion, the community Straßlach-Dingharting is responsible for the maintenance.
Part is rebuilt
It is a new construction in parts, existing paths are partly being renovated and widened.
The district bears the planning and construction costs.
However, 80 percent could be subsidized by a federal funding program.
The municipality of Straßlach-Dingharting pays for the purchase of the land from its own funds.
The district building authority is now looking for a specialist planner who will plan the cycle path in detail, put it out to tender and oversee the construction.
According to the Munich District Office, construction could begin next year.
